About Me
My classes have repeatedly been featured in the Sun Sentinel and the Miami Herald as well as magazines with international distributions such as Vegetarian News. I've also been quoted in various publications including the New York Times. I completed my teacher training at the Yoga Institute of Miami with Bobbi Goldin in October 2000 and regularly study with Ruth Ann Bradley. Both Ruth Ann and Bobbi are certified in the Iyengar style of yoga, a very difficult certification to acquire. Iyengar yoga emphasizes holding the poses, safety, and correct alignment. I do mix in elements from other styles when appropriate, especially in the prenatal class which benefits from movement and asana but is still a very gentle class. The prenatal yoga class that I attended while pregnant with my first daughter was my favorite time of the week. It was the only place where I was together with only pregnant women - no husbands, no kids - just us and our bellies! It was also one of the times during the week that I felt completely peaceful. I hope to recreate that special time in the classes that I teach. I taught the prenatal yoga classes up until 36 weeks with my second pregnancy, so I again experienced what it's like to do yoga while pregnant. I always keep in mind not just the physical aspects of prenatal yoga, but also the emotional. I also have a PhD in Clinical Psychology. I practice as a psychotherapist at KPK Counseling Services in Plantation, specializing in prenatal and postpartum depression and anxiety, and women's issues throughout the life cycle. Feel free to also visit my psychotherapy in Florida website or to learn more about yoga therapy. Private yoga instruction and services are available.
